Hogwart's School Dormatory

My daughter and I just got back from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando.  All I can say is WOW!  My daughter snapped this picture of Hogwarts Castle while we were standing in line.  Magnificent, if you haven't been yet, you must go.  Lines were long, even for the stores you had to actually wait in line just to get into the store to shop but worth the waiting.  I have to run now but I have more pictures and will post them very soon.

New Harry Potter movie sets world opening record

Hey Muggles... Have you seen the new movie yet?  More than once?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The latest "Harry Potter" movie cast a $104 million spell over worldwide box offices during its first day in theaters, setting a new record for the boy wizard, distributor Warner Bros Pictures said on Thursday.

Update:  Just heard on the news, Fandango is selling 8 tickets per second to the opening night showing of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" move.  WOW!

Actor Rupert Grint (Ron Weasely)

Muggles not to worry, Rupert Grint (Ron Weasely) is doing just fine.  Recently having contacted a minor case of the H1V1 Swine Flu virus he is now back on the set of his latest film.

College Quidditch for Muggles

Now that many Harry Potter fans are now in college, Quidditch is becoming one of the fastest growing college sports in the world.    College quidditch first came to muggles in the fall of 2005 at Middlebury College in Vermont where roughly 20 students from the same dormitory got together and on a field running around with capes and household brooms between there legs.  You can read the full history here:  History of Muggle College Quidditch Year One 

For the lasted information on College Quidditch you can visit the Inter-Collegiate Quidditch Association.  They even have had a  Quidditch World Cup tournament.

Harry Potter Half Blood Prince

If you haven't heard yet, the movie tickets for the Half Blood Prince went on sale today.  We got ours for the July 14, 2009 midnight movie showing.  We are really looking forward to seeing this new Harry Potter movie.  If you haven't got your tickets yet, hurry before the midnight showing sells out!!!  See you there!

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes 13 Diagon Alley

Rumor Alert:  I have heard that a Weasley's Wizard Wheezes joke shop will be located in Diagon Alley and be the largest gift shop at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.   How cool is that?

I had better start saving up now, there are several items on my must have list.

1. Decoy Detonators cool I want several dozen
2. Edible Dark Marks must have a dozen of these
3. 2 Pairs of Extendable Ears
4. Some Wild Fire Wizbangs.
5. Wizarding World T-shirt(s) several

Mad Eye Moody

I haven't heard anything about them having theme park characters at various locations in the park yet.  But, I am sure they will as many theme parks do.  It would be great to be at the park and to encounter Mad Eye Moody, or Rubeus Hagrid walking about, or even Harry Potter himself.  I would love to get some pictures of Mad Eye Moody and myself.

Mad Eye Moody, for which I was skeptical with him at first, has turned out to be one of my more favorite characters in the book series.  With his prosthetic leg, disfigured nose, and roaming magical left eye, Mad Eye Moody is definitely a character I would love to encounter at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.
